Theobold Garlinger

!MISC:
Moved from the Tiffin, Ohio area around 1859 with his wife and children to the
Nashville, Michigan area where most of the family remained. For many years up
into the 1980's there was an annual Garlinger-Gerlinger re-union comprised also
of Gerlinger's from the Lake Odessa, Michigan area which family tradition says
were relatives. The Garlinger name was changed from Gerlinger upon arriving

MISC: Theobald Garlinger born in Germany in 1808. He received a common school
education and in 1819 joined the standing Army. He served his time in the Army
and went back home to Kleinbundenbach and stayed one year. He came to America
in 1821. In 1823 he received word of the death of his parents and went back to
Germany to arect a monument over their graves. In 1825, he came to Maryland and
remained there until 1829 when he came to Hamilton County, Ohio. He stayed
there until 1832 and the moved to Seneca County, Ohio. In 1848 he married Eve
Deller and in 1859 he moved his family to Castleton Twp. Berry County,
Michigan.

Theobold married Eve Deller on 26 May 1849 in , Seneca, Ohio. (Eve Deller was born on 23 Oct 1826 in Bunda Byron and died on 23 Apr 1901 in , Michigan.)
