• Notes. Mary Wright was the daughter of Joseph and Charity Wright. It is not certain who Charity's parents were. She was born in Berkeley Co. SC, the daughter of Quaker parents. Her marriage to Edward Thomas, son of Isaac and Mary Thomas, is recorded in the Bush River Monthly Meetings, Newberry Co. South Carolina as are the births of their children. In 1807, the records say that they left Bush River with children, Isaac, Charity, Prudence, Edward, Elija, Elisha, Vashti, Abigail, Rachel, Mary, and Elihu; and that same year, they registered at the Miami Monthly Meeting in Warren Co. Ohio. In October of 1830, Mary and her husband, Edward, left Ohio and went to Randolph Co. Indiana, where they became members of the Arba Monthly Meeting. Their children, Elijah, Edward Jr., Prudence, Vashti, Mary, and Rachel and their families, also moved there.
Mary married Edward Thomas, son of Isaac Thomas and Mary Davies. (Edward Thomas was born on 17 Feb 1761 in Piney Grove Landing, Hyde County, North Carolina, USA, died on 13 Aug 1843 and was buried in Arba Cemetary, Arba, Randolph, Indiana.)
