An excerpt from the Ada Record of Jan 5, 1921 indicated that
William was the first white child to be born in Liberty Twp.
Hardin Co. Ohio. However, this does not appear to be true
based on other Census Records.
!NOTE: William married Mary Burnet from neighboring Hancock Co. Ohio
in Sept 1863, their son Seth was born in Feb 1864 and William
and Mary divorced soon after. Seth's descendents say the William
would pass young Seth on the streets of Ada and not acknowledge
him. Seth's family later moved to southern Ohio. William married
Sarah White later that same year in 1864.
