Merle Romick

MISC: Had long telephone converstion on Sept. 10, 1992. He confirmed that
Cristeena was an Potawatami Indian Maiden. His brother Melvin Romick, owns the
old John J. Garlinger house. The house had a minor fire in the 1930's and was
re-structured a little, a dormer was added. It is still the basic house that
John J. built. The original barn burned down in 1913 due to a lightning strike.
His grandmother Julia Garlinger Boutwell used to have a Civil War sword and
pistol that may have belonged to her uncle. (Horatio?)
Merle thinks there is a Garlinger name on a bronze plaque at the Kenton County
Courthouse that served in the Civil War.
