26. Bertalie⁵ Garlinger (Mary Melicendra⁴ Hassan, Adonijah³, John², Hugh¹) (#4) was born in Mt. Cory, Hancock, Ohio August 27, 1879. Bertalie died January 24, 1956 in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, at 76 years of age. His body was interred in Gravel Hill, Jay, Indiana.

He married Barbara Emma Knoelke in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, August 6, 1904. (Barbara Emma Knoelke is #5.) Barbara was born in Bryant, Jay, Indiana March 17, 1883. Barbara was the daughter of Carl Henry Frederick Knoelke and Martha Elizabeth Adams. Barbara died June 28, 1961 in Ft. Wayne, Allen, Indiana, at 78 years of age. Her body was interred in Gravel Hill, Jay, Indiana. At 22 years of age Barbara became the mother of Augusta Lorene Garlinger in Portland, Jay, Indiana, August 4, 1905. At 23 years of age Barbara became the mother of Berta Lucile Garlinger in Portland, Jay, Indiana, October 25, 1906. At 25 years of age Barbara became the mother of George Louis Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, July 13, 1908. At 27 years of age Barbara became the mother of Esther Eloys Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, April 24, 1910. At 28 years of age Barbara became the mother of Agnes Idora Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, September 3, 1911. At 30 years of age Barbara became the mother of Carl Eugene Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, December 29, 1913. At 32 years of age Barbara became the mother of Catherine Margaret Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, August 12, 1915. At 39 years of age Barbara became the mother of Natalie Zenell Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, September 2, 1922. At 44 years of age Barbara became the mother of Meredith Leon Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, March 10, 1928. !MISC: In 1913, from April to Nov., Bert and Emma were in Idaho with Henry Harrison Garlinger. They had traveled by train to Chucago and t hen to Boise. They had a little white fox terrier named Trix that got lost a long the way in Pocatello, Idaho. Emma was homesick for Indiana and pregn ant with Carl. They only stayed aout 7 months.

At 34 years of age Bertalie became the father of Carl Eugene Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, December 29, 1913. At 35 years of age Bertalie became the father of Catherine Margaret Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, August 12, 1915. At 43 years of age Bertalie became the father of Natalie Zenell Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, September 2, 1922. At 48 years of age Bertalie became the father of Meredith Leon Garlinger in Bryant, Jay, Indiana, March 10, 1928.
